At present, electrolysis with Cu-Al anodes and electrolysis of Cu-Al anodes combining with electrolytic chlorine generator are most applied to the MGPS system on ship and offshore platform. The operation principle of electrolysis with Cu-Al anodes is to use the toxic Cu2O and floc carrier of Al(OH)3 produced during electrolysis could kill and control to growth of marine life for staying on the inner side of seawater pipelines. The technology of combining electrolytic chlorite generator with Cu-Al anodes for anti-fouling and anti-corrosion was created by SunRui, and available chlorine produced by DSA anodes enhances the effect of Cu2O and Al(OH)3. These two technologies have been applied in more than one hundred MGPS projects of ships and platforms because of the outstanding anti-fouling and environment protection performance.
